Circle of Times: Speak up! I can't See You.

Members of RAW (Residency Arts Workshop) joined renowned sound artist Pauline Oliveros in a one-night-only performace of Circle of Times: Speak Up, I can't See You. Highlights of the performance included Pauline's Extended Instrument System which consists of custom software, various noise making objects, a 9-point surround sound system encompassing the audience and, of course, Pauline.

The performance began with RAW members playing medicine bowls while weaving through the audience before taking positions playing instruments, mixing live and pre-recorded video with MAX/MSP/Jitter, manning cameras and doing impromptu performances. The music score was improvised around a loosley structured drawing, A Circle of Times, made by Pauline and others, dedicated to the memory of a recently deceased friend of Pauline. Video feeds from the main mixer were projected through windows in the back of Railroad Earth, symbolizing the path of the body and its life through images.
