Hotbed, my first video installation, was shown in the Woodruff Arts Center in the Center Space gallery in 2003 as part of the OnSite '03 exhibition. Created around the same time as Slideshow 4950, a single-channel video piece, Hotbed deals with the impact that new forms of communication have on language and the spread of bad habits or "language viruses" and cultural memes through rhizomatic structures such as television and print media.
