Integrating computational elements in time-based and interactive media is the logical next-step in my work. My first experience programming came during a student residency at the Experimental Television Center in Owego, NY when I had the opportunity to take an intensive three-day MAX/MSP/Jitter workshop. This had an immediate influence on my work and artistic direction. This new direction influenced my decision to enter the Digital Media Master's program at Georgia Tech. After exploring various types of computational media, I have gravitated to tangible interfaces, mechatronic art and interactive installation during my graduate studies. This allows me to combine sculptural sensibility and fabrication techniques with computation in order to create more engaging pieces and gives me different ways to interact with others through my work.
